Amy Hoover did not plan to have a career in technology, but serendipitously has become the CIO for one of the largest restaurant franchise organizations in the country, which also happens to operate other challenging businesses like Ebony Media and help fund local charities like Hip Hop Cares. She began her technical career as an IT Project Manager, coordinating the installation of a new POS system for 150 restaurant locations. After successfully completing that project, she was offered a job working for Manna, Inc. as a helpdesk support analyst supporting those same restaurants. Due to her persistent nature, her strong work ethic, and her belief in leading by example, Amy was quickly promoted multiple times over a few years. When the role of CIO / VP of Technology was being vacated, she was given an opportunity to step forward and become a member of the senior leadership team.
Amy has embraced her role as CIO over the last 6 years, focusing on disruption and transformation within the four walls of the business, as well as the restaurants. She has been elected multiple times to serve on the Wendy's Technical Advisory Council, representing over 75 other franchisees' technical interests to the Wendy's company. Within her organization, she has been honored with the "Servant Leadership" award for her continued efforts to enrich the lives of others and use technology to connect people. She has a small but mighty group of gifted technologists on her team who are the backbone of the entire company.
Amy lives where Manna is headquartered in Louisville, KY with her partner Jared, 2 year old son Kostas, and bull terrier Juice. For relaxation, she enjoys traveling, "winning" at puzzles, and experiencing new restaurants.
