SCHEDULE: Full Time, Hybrid
TRAVEL REQUIRED: 0% - 25%
COMPENSATION: $111,561.00 to $196,028.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
About Our Opportunity
Our Director of Application Development is responsible for strategic direction of all aspects related to implementation of commercial off-the-shelf systems or internally developed systems, system enhancements, problem identification/resolution, database management and data analysis/reporting for the association. In this business technology leadership role, a team member will coordinate activities as required with third party partner banks or Associations, internal customers and external vendors. This is an innovative opportunity to implement change while managing and maintaining industry standard processes for the development of business applications.

Coordinating and releasing fully tested, internally developed software to end users that is free from errors prior to implementation and providing complete change documentation at the time of release.
Adjusting departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges with focus on the next two to four years' priorities.
Making decisions based on policies, procedures, business plan, resource availability and functional objectives.
Identifying opportunities for application of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to solve complex problems.
Applying acquired expertise to analyze and solve problems without clear precedent.
Providing technical and system design expertise to assist in the development, implementation, review and upgrade of computer-based systems.
Identifying system problems and coordinates with third party partner Banks or Associations, internal customers and external vendors to resolve problems and implement enhancements.
Providing proactive suggestions for product development, new services and technologies or enhancements to existing systems/configurations which will assist the end user in improving overall service to our customers.
Keeping technical skills up to date to provide most efficient support to end users.
Coordinating with cross-functional leaders to make recommendations or solve problems.
Providing technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers
Actively participating on assigned team projects fulfilling task assignments, meeting deadlines, and proactively seeking attainment of team goals.
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, business or related field. At least seven years of experience developing a variety of business solutions with progressive responsibilities managing software development teams and software development projects. Experience managing teams under an Agile SDLC methodology and other SDLCs, programming languages, database structures, WEB concepts and Mobile application concepts.
